The Mainstream Beanie is a Crochet Pattern by Crochet It Creations. It comes in 8 sizes including Newborn, 3 Months, 6 Months, 1 Year, 2 Years, 3-5 Years, 6-10 Years, and Adult. View the Free Pattern instructions here - https://crochetitcreations.com/mainst...

UPDATE - to correct the gaps, work LAST HDC of each row of the beanie body in BOTH loops not just FLO or BLO.

Materials needed are a I5.5mm Crochet Hook, Medium #4 Weight Yarn, Scissors, Tapestry Needle, and a Measuring Tape. I ALWAYS recommend to do a gauge swatch prior to starting the pattern to make sure your tension is matching up to the pattern. Video goes over how to make a gauge swatch.

Gauge is 4" square = 8 rows x 14 HDC usig BLO, FLO technique of the pattern. If you get more stitches & rows in 4" then you need to go up a hook size to make larger stitches. If you get less stitches & rows in 4" then you need to go down a hook size to make smaller stitches.

Yarn used in the video is Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek in color way Purple/Green Multi. Other yarn that works well for this pattern is Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn! It comes in many beautiful colors.

Stitches used in this pattern is a Foundation Half Double Crochet (FHDC), Half Double Crochet (HDC), Front Post Half Double Crochet (FPHDC), Back Post Half Double Crochet (BPHDC), and Single Crochet 2 Together (SC2TOG). If you are not familiar with these stitches I have several videos that can be helpful.

The Beanie is worked in a rectangle first. Close the rectangle to make the beanie. Add a brim and close the top. Attach a Faux Fur Pom Pom or a Yarn Pom Pom to the top.

If you have never made Faux Fur Pom Poms, I have a video that goes over how to make them. You can buy Faux Fur fabric for fairly inexpensive from your local craft store. It will make a LOT of Pom Poms! https://crochetitcreations.com/faux-f...
