Azalea is one species almost synonymous with the art of bonsai. Not quite so common as figs and junipers they still find themselves to be very popular. This is because they provide long lasting flowers and are relatively easy to handle. By comparison to some species an azalea does need a little more work. This is mostly a result fo the soil they need and the soft bark that wire bites into. Despite these 2 pertinent issues they do produce a very good bonsai with time.
