This video goes over how to replace a front sway bar link on a 2012 Ford Fusion with a 2.5 motor. This should be the same process for any 2006 -2012 (First Generation) Ford Fusion. If a sway bar link is broken or worn, it can make a lot of noise, making you think the car is actually coming apart. A lot of the time it will clunk and rattle as you travel down bumpy roads. Sway bar links are fairly inexpensive to buy and super easy to install. You can still drive a vehicle with a broken sway bar link. The vehicle may feel loose and not as secure on corners, but it’s not unsafe to use. Just use some discretion when going into corners and be aware of driving conditions. Sway Bar links work with a sway bar to stabilize the vehicle's body, especially around corners. Whenever you turn your vehicle, the links help the sway bar transfer the load from one side of the suspension to the other. So the sway bar links are important to achieve the ride and stability that the manufacturer intended.
