Another wonderful comedy episode showing off the great acting skills and timing of Rettig and Keeler. Jeff and Porky sneak into the old Tilsbury house on a dare, but end up being trapped in the basement by a Revolutionary War ghost, and have to send Lassie for help.
A funny scene early in the episode - Gramps stumbles to explain ghosts and "natural law" in the face of Jeff's logical comebacks. Jeff to Gramps:"If there's no such thing as ghosts, why do they even have the word "ghost?" In a following scene when Porky and Jeff meet up to explore the haunted house, Jeff greets Porky (who runs up out of the woods to meet Jeff, none too happy about being there) with "You're late!" Porky replies "Um, I just wish I was later!" Jeff says "There's nothing to be afraid of. Gramps promised me there are no such things as ghosts." Porky replies "Yeah, but did they promise him?" Porky's reasoning why he shouldn't go in the haunted house are too funny! A great episode with great acting that is lots of fun to watch.
