It is winter and I getting to know my Tesla Model Y more. There is features that is making life easier in this car. Heated steering wheel is one thing that is giving the car more comfort and also the that the wipers can be heated is also beneficial. But in the latest software update the “Christmas update” there was an not so welcome update. A possibility that the autopilot, the auto steer and the full self driving can be suspended for a week if the driver of the car is not paying enough attention on the road. Introducing systems that is punishing the costumer like this is no something positive and hardly will make the driving safer. With all the advanced tech that a Tesla cars comes with today they are extremely powerful, to be able to add many functions that will benefit the driver and the over all safety. But the tech can also be abused by giving the impression to the public the privacy and the rights are compromised. The only thing that is protecting the grate benefits that all this tech can give is trust that manufacturers, politicians and the society is not abusing it. This new introduced punishment is definitely heading in a direction that making the general public lose trust in the system. That is not good and it is doubt full if this leads to a better future.
