Bete Giorgis (or church of st.George) is the most iconic of the eleven rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, Ethiopia.
Being the latest build, the rock carving techniques are of the highest level.
The whole church, both exterior and interior including decorations, is catved from one single piece of rock.
This is mind-boggling and I think it is justified to call it the eight wonder of the world.
From all the Lalibela churches this church is the only one with a cared dome inside.
