On Tuesday April 2, 2024, a distressing incident unfolded in Craighead County when a 7-year-old boy was found walking alone, miles from home. A concerned citizen alerted authorities after the child, attempting to reach Valley View School, appeared at his farm shop on Craighead Road 457. The boy explained that he had missed the school bus that morning and was afraid of getting into trouble at home if he didn’t make it to school. The boy's school was 7-Miles away from his home making his journey both dangerous and alarming.
