Hello everyone, glad to welcome you back to this video of the Swiss a220 noseview landing at London City Airport.

We took off early in the morning to arrive around 8 o’clock at our destination. Crosswinds of up to 20 knots made this landing a very challenging one.
Also, this approach requires special training and procedures. For example, it is a six degree approach for both runways, 27 and 09. On the a220, the speedbrakes stay extended at about 30% during the entire approach. Il try to capture that next time I go to city as a wingview video for you guys.

If you guys feel like it, try a similar setup in Microsoft flight simulator on the same runway, you will appreciate this captains job even more when you know how hard it actually is to make it look so effortless and easy.

London City Airport Landing

Welcome you all for another video of our Airbus a220 arriving at London City Airport!
first off, Glad you seem to be interested in videos like this, so make sure you have subscribed to this channel!
And second, I’m very glad to present you another one of these videos from the cockpit, especially London City. I’m a Swiss and English double citizen, and for me this flight always has been something like connecting the two homes. London, the metropolis and my home town, Zurich.
If you yourself want to witness this landing for yourself, book a flight on Swiss.com to London City, you won’t be disappointed, I guarantee you that. Each and every landing is intense, and very challenging given the steep approach path of 5.5 degrees.
We’ve looked at this approach already a half a dozen times, so il get to the landing right away.
Today it is a crosswind landing on runway 27, the captain really greased it and put it down nicely in the touchdown zone, as always making it look so easy, when it really isn’t.
So, enjoy the main event today and il quickly report back after landing!

And we have arrived at London City Airport, a quick 45 minute turnaround and then back home to Zurich.
The definitive decision isn’t taken yet by Swiss international, if this route will be continued by Swiss and its own equipment, or if Helvetic and other codeshare partners will take over.
As soon as a decision is made, I will make a video about it on this channel.
