The "Arthur's Pass Round" takes the British fell running tradition of 24-hour mountain running into the alpine zone in the form of a 48km loop, starting and finishing in Arthur's Pass Village, summiting 9 peaks and clocking up 5500m vertical gain.
NZAT team members Alastair & Sophie set off from Kennedy Lodge in Arthur's Pass Village at midnight Saturday and finished 5am Sunday for a total time of just under 29 hours.
This was possibly only the second time this loop has been completed, but this aesthetic circuit deserves more attention!
