One of the biggest mistakes we can make it trying to be palatable to everyone. Wanting everyone to like us. It's especially easy for those of us who fear rejection and want to reach a large number of people and eventually be successful at this whole youtubing thing.

As we quickly approach Halloween at the time of uploading, I've been inundated with candy corn memes. People HATE it or they LOVE it. There's not a lot inbetween, and it felt like the perfect analogy for looking at ourselves. People will love us or hate us. We ARE candy corn!

Dan McPherson came to lend his wisdom in expressing some truths about this- about how being our authentic self will connect us to the people we are meant to connect with and the admonition to not be vanilla roadkill.

I shared about my experience with working on a vlog and how I found that I liked myself, and how beautiful of a thing that can be. We've got to hype ourselves up and believe in ourselves and be unapologetically who we are.
