After what feels like forever, we are finally back on the shelf dropping into 550m of water... not for Swordfish just yet, but Blue-eye Trevalla and other deep sea delights! We kick started the day with 2 around 7-8kg and then had a big lull in activity for the next 3 hours as we contemplated moving in shallower to try our luck on Striped Trumpeter. We resisted and patience paid off with another 3 Blue-eye (biggest a whisker under 10kg), another 7-8kg, a 1.2m+ Pink Ling and Rays Bream. Happy with what we were taking home of the target species, we decided to re-set our drift and try for a few more Rays Bream, we hooked up and to our surprise, when it hit the surface it was another 4kg Blue-eye that was 130m off the bottom. With the eski now chockers and afternoon getting on we packed up and headed in to start the clean up process.
Thanks for watching, cheers @itswizza
