The Temple of “MURARI DEVI” is located on a hill top in the district of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, near Sunder Nager (Balh) at an altitude of 1800 m. Murari Devi is a manifestation of Goddess Parvati.The Icon are carved out of black stone., According to legends, In ancient times, there was a mighty demon called “MOORE” lives in this stretch. The goddess killed Moore's demon by attacking his weapon. Due to Moore's killing the divine daughter was addressed as “MURARI DEVI”. According to another opinion, due to the birth of “LORD VISHNU”, also called Murari, it became famous as the goddess Murari (“MURARI DEVI”). Temple of Murari Devi associated with the AGYATWAAS of “PANDAVAS “When Pandavas were cutting their identity, then they came to this place. The Goddess appeared to him and said that digging on the top of the mountain and digging it, you will find two Icon’s on it. Make a temple at that place and establish those Icon’s . According to Mother's orders, Pandavas built a magnificent temple there. MURARI DEVI is well connected with road.To reach murari devi one has to traverse from Sunder Nagar to Swahraghat,You can reach Swahraghat by bus or any other vehicle,From Swahraghat, you have to walk upwards 2 km, to reach the temple. Another way to approach the temple is Sunder Nagar-Murari Devi (via Leda) road, but 5 km. forest track is Unmetlled.Other approach road is, from.Jahu Amla GaluLeda Murari Devi. 2. From MURARI DEVI top one gets fabulous views of the surrounding ,Sunder Nagar , Barmana, towards the south east, while at the north to north-east stands the majestic Dhauladhar mountain ranges with their snow capped peaks. Towards the west by north-west lies Bilaspur ,Hamirpur and Rewalsar ranges .
