This is a war the American army and the CIA led in the shadow of their "black sites" right after the 9/11 attacks.

In these secret prisons, but also on the Guantanamo military base, the American intelligence agency used "reinforced interrogation techniques", in other words acts of torture, on dozens of men suspected of terrorist activity, for several years.

This violent method was revealed in 2014 by a U.S. Senate Select Committee. But one question remained : what did the CIA know about the effectiveness of these techniques? Did it have any results?

In the light of the revelations of the Senate report and testimonies of prisoners, including Mourad Benchellali, who was detained two years at Guantanamo Bay, let's take a look at this significant episode of the American war against terrorism.
