Now, more than ever, teenagers face overwhelming pressures to fit in with their peers. High School can be a breeding ground for bullying, torment and ridicule. It is also a time where teens face pressures to fit in and look a certain way. This pressure can lead to dangerous behaviors such as eating disorders, self-harm and substance abuse. Imagine a teen who faces the harassment by peers, or is dealing with self-esteem problems and has nowhere to turn for support. They can begin to feel lonely, hopeless, isolated, unworthy and desperate. Depression can take many forms and this is one of them. The most alarming part is when left untreated, is the number one cause of suicide.

This week we are partnering with Love is Louder to provide support, tools and clubs in high schools and colleges to help prevent depression, substance abuse and self-harm in teenagers. These programs help create an inclusive community where teens can find support and acceptance from other who have similar struggles.
