The subject of ball position has been discussed countless times, but it is often misrepresented and leads to the majority of golfers making very basic (but significant) mistakes when it comes to how they position the golf ball for each of their clubs.

Ball position is a variable, meaning it can be used as a tool to influence the swing path and attack angle, which can alter the flight of the ball from both a directional (start line and curvature) and vertical (higher or lower) point of view.

If, however, like the vast majority of golfers, you’re looking for a simple template for how to position the ball for every club in your bag, then this video will explain how to use the lead shoulder (which is the centre of the golf swing) as your reference for where to position the ball. This system can be applied to all clubs as your set-up varies slightly from club to club.

The “Stack&Tilt” GRID provides a golfer with a roadmap for how to set-up for each club to ‘build-in’ a particular shot (draw/fade) so that there is less left to chance when the golfer makes their swing. Having such high certainty that the ball is going to fly in the exact way you want it to provides golfers with the confidence to swing with freedom - which is truly the most rewarding feeling in golf - and this can be achieved by studying the GRID and setting it up EVERY time you practice.

So remember that it is the LEAD SHOULDER that should be used as the reference point for where to position the ball, using the 1, 2 or 3 ball position depending on the club you’re hitting - SIMPLE!
