What have we learned from our exploration of the Gospel of Matthew? 🤔 This week, we dive into one of the most challenging stories in Matthew’s gospel (15:21-28): a Canaanite woman pleads with Jesus to heal her daughter, only to be dismissed with the harsh words, “It’s not good to take children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” Yet, when her faith shines through despite the rebuke, Jesus heals her daughter.

Join us as we unpack the deeper theological context of this story and explore how the early Christian community was reshaping the idea of Israel—not as an ethnicity, but as a fellowship open to all within the Christian commonwealth.
Plus, we’ll revisit key insights from our recent sermons on Matthew, reflecting on what we’ve learned so far to gain new perspectives on this puzzling scripture. How does this challenging story speak to our current commitment to social justice and inclusivity? How is the voice of the living Christ inspiring us today to welcome everyone and uphold our enduring principle, the "Worth of All Persons"? Let us worship, reflect, and grow together.
