The Akhal-Teke Horseman, or Akhal-Teke, is a horse breed bred on the territory of modern Turkmenistan (Akhal-Teke), supposedly about 5000 years ago.
This is the oldest of the cultural breeds that has influenced many breeds - Arabian, thoroughbred horse and others. It belongs, along with a thoroughbred horse and Arabian, to the number of purebred breeds, as it is a reference riding horse and for 5000 years has not been crossed with other breeds. It is well adapted to dry hot climates and perfectly acclimates to other conditions. The literature contains the names of the Akhal-Tekin, Tekin or Turkmen horse.
