New Mexico is adjacent to southern Colorado, and there is a vast valley plain between them. The vegetation is simple cone-shaped pine, unlike the towering coniferous forests in the Colorado Rockies. After driving for a long time in the open field of view, there was no human habitation, and it was another sparsely populated wilderness. Under the dusk sky, the windmills rotate regularly and emit red light, making the place feel the breath of life.

Ruidoso is a ski resort in New Mexico. The surrounding mountains are dense and tall coniferous forests. From time to time, you can see exclusive courtyards with unique styles built in the mountains and forests. They all follow the same melody, a bit like Spain. Those exclusive courtyards located on the top of the hill, they give a visual beauty.

Come to Ruidoso to see the annular solar eclipse. An annular solar eclipse is a natural phenomenon in the universe. When the moon moves in front of the sun, if you watch this special moment from a suitable position, you can see that the sun has only one ring left. Last year, astronomers predicted the astronomical phenomenon of this year's solar annular eclipse. One of the best places to observe it is in Ruidoso, New Mexico, where you can see the entire solar eclipse's solar halo. On Saturday, October 14, 2023, the meeting between the sun and the moon started at 9:15 am and lasted until 10:30, and then the moon began to slowly move away.

It is not easy to capture an annular solar eclipse with a camera. It is indeed more interesting to observe the entire process with the naked eye. The phone will only focus on a certain corner unexpectedly. You need to turn on AE/AF Lock immediately to clearly track the moment of the solar annular eclipse. Such moments of focus will be fleeting. If you catch it, don't miss it. You may never have the chance to track it again.

Those who came to Ruidoso to watch the annular solar eclipse undoubtedly saw the rare moment they wanted to see. In order to observe the annular solar eclipse, Lei purchased several additional camera accessories. From his pictures, the slow changing process of the solar annular eclipse can be clearly seen. In the parking lot, I met several tourists who were also here to see this astronomical phenomenon, and we chatted about their stories. It was an interesting encounter.

Compared with Deavils Head Lookout in Colorado, the six-mile winding mountain road to Monjeau Lookout in New Mexico is more dangerous and more difficult to drive. The bumpy dirt road climbing uphill makes me feel a bit nervous. There are many people camping on the slopes along the way. Camping here is free and the camping tents can be set up wherever they think is suitable. In the sunset, a group of people started barbecue and camping near the observation deck. Whether you come to see this lookout or not, you will not be disappointed.

Wild horses and people. On the residential streets near Ruidoso, you will encounter wild horses and Elk wild animals looking for food. Whether wild horses are willing to be in close contact with people, I don't know, but this was one of the times we got a very close look at them and heard them make a low sound, perhaps as a way of expressing their displeasure.

Elk in the pine forest. In life, in the unknown world, there are always too many similarities in life, which can give people an illusion, a sense of plausibility.

In the past two days, we often encountered a group of animals in the pine forest. The first thing I thought of was deer, a very common wild animal. Lei felt that they were not as sensitive as deer, their necks were a bit long, and their ears seemed a bit big, so he checked online and found that they were a group of Elks, not deer.

They just live in very similar environments and have some similarities with each other. Nature is an excellent classroom for us to learn to understand each other. This is why we need to go into nature.

There are many wild horse statues in a small park, and the city also has a large horse racing stadium. Perhaps horses are a very important symbol in this city.

Peter Hurd Museum on the farm. Peter Hurd is an American realist painter who studied at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Halfway through his studies, he switched to art and studied under the famous American painter N. C. Wyeth. He later married Wyeth's daughter, who was also a painter.

Peter is from Roswell, New Mexico. They returned to Roswell to continue painting, mostly cultural landscapes and portraits of New Mexico. He once painted a portrait of the then US President Johnson, but it was not recognized by the president and was later collected by the Smithsonian Institution Museum.

The beauty of New Mexico lies in travelers experiencing it for themselves. White Sands National Park only officially became a national park in 2019. It is a place where you can experience the difficulty of life.
