The most common sugar is extracted from sugar cane. It is from it that the most diverse types come out, such as refined sugar, brown sugar and others.

For this we will visit the Imperial Sugar factory, which is located in the United States. It is one of the largest manufacturers of this product in the world.

It all starts with the sugar cane harvest. On some farms, sugarcane is burned to facilitate the process.

Once the burning is over, the tractor cuts and harvests the cane. Large trucks transport the raw material to the sugar factory.

The height of the cane is up to 6 meters, and only about 15% is what actually turns into the sugar we know.

Sugar cane is crushed and ground.

From the mill, it passes through the separator, where the bagasse and juice are separated.

The evaporator dries the cane fibers, keeping the raw sugar, to be crystallized later. Centrifuge is also performed to remove any remaining liquid.

The sugar still needs to be purified, decolorized, recrystallized and dried.

To discolor, all of its natural dye is removed.

It is in the central that the entire purification and decolorization process is controlled.

A vacuum system crystallizes the sugar.

Large tanks dry the crystals and pass through filters so that the grains maintain their standard size.

Finally, it is packaged and palletized.

Quality control is carried out on each batch, looking for possible problems in the process.
