This is a video of The Bay Boys playing at the Cambridge Newfoundland Club in the early 1990s. Fred Northcotte who is the accordion player and my uncle, passed away 3 years ago today and I thought what a better way to commemorate his memory than to post a video of one of his true passions.

The Bay Boys were formed by Fred and Les Northcotte, brothers from Ramea Newfoundland who eventually moved to Ontario. For close to 40 years the band entertained thousands of people in Ontario with their traditional maritime sound. They deliver an upbeat, toe tapping brand of music that appeals to not only maritimers, but people from all life and cultures. According to one loyal fan of the band, attending a Bay Boys concert/dance is like a little "home away from home" for the Newfoundland crowd.

Sadly, Les & Fred Northcotte have both passed on as well as drummer Vic Hayes. But we have these videos to remind us of their wonderful talent and their memory will live through their music.
