Raising ducks requires patience, especially when it comes to water for ducks. Pet ducks are different from other poultry, like chickens, because they need constant access to tons of clean, fresh water -- which they immediately soil with their food, waste and mud. They also tend to splash it all out of the bowl is just a few minutes! I put together a diy waterer that rests on the ground and allows ducks to access the water with their entire head, but it doesn't allow them to get into the water pan itself. Ducks are a great addition to any homestead, but their water is a real challenge! I also take a tour of my duck house (duck coop), and show how to keep them from getting too messy.
