In this exclusive interview, in collaboration with Kinótico, we speak with Mariana Rondón, director and co-writer of "Zafari", and actress Daniela Ramírez. The film is part of the Horizontes Latinos section at the San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF). Venezuelan filmmaker Rondón returns to the festival 11 years after winning the Golden Shell for "Pelo Malo". "Zafari", a co-production involving Peru, Venezuela, Mexico, France, Brazil, Chile, and the Dominican Republic, features a talented cast led by Chilean actress Daniela Ramírez and Venezuelan actors Samantha Castillo and Francisco Denis.

ZAFARI
"Zafari" tells the story of a middle-class family facing the collapse of their once comfortable life due to the political and economic crisis in their country. Their last luxury is a shared swimming pool in a building slowly emptying as the situation worsens. While Ana (Ramírez) prepares to leave the country, she scavenges for food and essentials, but when a neighboring family is tasked with caring for a newly arrived hippopotamus at the zoo next door, tensions rise between the two families. The chaotic world around them seems to spiral, with Zafari the only one who still has enough to eat.
