Abnormal climatic phenomena, such as heat waves and heavy snowfall, have been occurring all around the world, threatening the very survival of mankind. The cause of such phenomena is none other than global warming. In order to prevent the progression of global warming, which continues to grow worse with each passing day, we must reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This is the goal of KIMM Dept. of Engine Research.

Recently, KIMM has achieved the basic performance goals of a small hydrogen engine that can be used as a power source for unmanned devices, such as mobile robots and drones. Hydrogen is not only an eco-friendly fuel, but also has a specific energy of about 2.8 times that of gasoline, thus making it a fuel that can extend the flight time of drones.
