From Chapter 8:1-17 of the study of the Book of Esther (אֶסְתֵּר), brother Gideon Levytam relates how the sovereign God of Israel protected His people from their enemies. God would not allow Haman the Agagite to destroy His people, for in God's plan, the Messiah must come to the world through the Jewish people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11. While Haman himself was hung on the gallows, his evil plan to destroy all the Jews in one day still remained. Esther pleaded with King Ahasuerus to protect her people from destruction, and God in His providence caused king Ahasuerus to have letters sent to all the one hundred and twenty seven provinces in Persia, allowing the Jews to protect themselves from anyone seeking to harm them. Miraculously, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month Adar, no-one was able to harm the Jews, who had light, gladness, joy, and honour in their dwellings.
