With four hungry mouths to feed, our goal is to catch a tuna for ‪@OutdoorChefLife‬ to prepare dinner tonight!

After launching the boat at the break of dawn in the beautiful Jackson Bay on the West Coast of New Zealand, we head out wide in search of bluefin tuna lurking beneath the rolling swell. After struggling to find clear, blue water at a warm temperature, we finally strike gold and stumble into some large schools of albacore tuna. Soon after we're hooked up to the fish we've been searching for.

Later in the day, we work our way back in against the coast to target inshore species, in particular Yellowtail Kingfish, but a welcome by-catch of skipjack tuna, kahawai and tarakihi provide a diverse offering for the dinner table. We were lucky enough to watch Taku work his magic on these fish and prepare a truly incredible meal for dinner.
