Spider Bookmark - Working the second row and the first spider

Second row is Torchon ground with edge stitches from centre to both sides

Spider
Twist the 2 pairs on each side twice more (so there are 3 twists on each pair)

*Work the centre pairs in cloth st
Work the right pair through the next pair in cloth st
Back to the middle
Work the left pair through the next pair in cloth st
Back to the middle
*Work the 2 centre pairs in cloth st

Put up the centre pin

Repeat the instructions from * to *

Spider done! Not so scary!!

Continue working the Torchon ground with the pairs coming out of the spider, until you have used them all and have arrived at the next spider marking on the pricking.
