If you are considering buying this chainsaw, or have purchased it and want to know what to expect over the long haul, this video might be useful to you. Over the past three years we have used our 16” DeWalt Battery-operated Chainsaw (DCCS670) a lot while managing our woodlands. We use it mostly to cut down invasive trees and shrubs, but we also use it to harvest firewood to heat our home. It has been ideal for the type of cutting that we do. We have been very pleased with how it has performed, but after three years of hard use, it was showing some wear. In this video we replace the outer chain cover (N723753), the inner chain cover (90609778), the chain retaining screw (90639221), the chain retaining washer (90618229), the bar (90641855), and the chain.

We discuss:
1) some of the advantages and disadvantages of this saw over a gas-powered model,
2) how to keep your chain retaining screw in place,
3) the difference between the old style chain cover and the new style, and
4) how to replace some of the parts most susceptible to wear.

This saw may be available on Amazon. If you purchase it through this link, we may receive a kick-back. But check out other prices before you buy. It may be cheaper through other stores.
