El Salvador: The Land of volcanoes, the smoothest roads, and hidden gems. And for the past three weeks, it has been our playground.
Thanks to our Toyota Tacoma and four wheel camper, El Salvador has no more secrets for us.
Buckle up, because we're taking you on a wild ride through the heart of this Central American gem.

First stop: Cerro Verde with Volcano Santa Anna. We tackled the switchbacks, the air thinning with every meter. Reaching the crater rim, with a big group of fellow travelers. Not really the hike we were hoping for, but the view is just incredible!

But El Salvador isn't just about volcanoes. We chased the sun down the Pacific coast, the salty breeze whipping through our hair. We meet up with some old and new friends. The sand between our toes, enjoying the company and the gorgeous sunsets and sunrises.

Overlanding isn't always glamorous. As we try to find the coolest off roads and remote camp spots. We try to stay clean and happy while making the best of our travels.

We didn't really know what to expect from El Salvador. All we know are the horrors shown by the media. But as usual we like to experience countries by ourselves, without any judgement and with an open mind. El Salvador surprised us the most of all the countries we've been to so far. It's safe, clean, has the smoothest roads and definitely the most friendly people we've ever encountered. El Salvadorians are proud and filled with joy to see travelers passing through their gorgeous country. So definitely pay a visit and don't just rush through.
