A NEW-ENGLAND FOLK TALE. The VVitch (2015) tells the tale of a family from the 1630s torn apart by witchcraft and dark magic. But despite being the namesake of the film, we rarely truly see the witch. The story is told through the family's experiences on their farm, which are inspired by Elizabethan and Jacobean witch pamphlets, writings and court records from the Salem witch trails, and actual beliefs held by New Englanders of the era.

The result is a character as convincing on the silver screen as the detractors who hunted witches were to their peers many years ago. In this video I'll be going over the entire history of the witch, from The VVitch.
