Putting the heavy 830 tandem to work doing exactly what it was designed to do. The sled doesn't stand a chance. This John Deere 830 tandem Munroe hitch was designed and built in Didsbury, Alberta to grant area farmers a level of drawbar horsepower that simply wasn't available commercially in those days. It spent it's years pulling heavy implements on the Alberta prairie until it was replaced by the massive company built articulated tractors that we know today. Power is delivered from two Deere 7.7 litre diesel two cylinder engines and this setup deliver's roughly 135 horsepower to the drawbar, a pulling power almost a decade ahead of it's time. A special thanks goes to the Spreeman family who maintain and operate her for the joy of thousands. Pioneer Acres Museum, Irricana, Alberta.
