As the Executive Director of the Hollywood Property Owners Association from 1997 to 2018, Kerry's unwavering commitment and insight have fundamentally changed how Downtown organizations view, manage, advocate, and address the national problem of homelessness and mental illness. Kerry's journey into the heart of the homelessness issue began around 2004 when she delved deeply into the complexities of homelessness, approaching the problem from a holistic perspective. She immersed herself in the issue, walking the streets of Hollywood to observe and understand the challenges faced by those who call the streets their home. Through her dedication and advocacy, she has been a beacon of hope for individuals navigating the "continuum of care." Kerry's exceptional contributions focus not just on homelessness and mental health advocacy but also on how these issues significantly impact the critical intersection with public space management. Kerry's leadership spearheaded initiatives that aim to strike a harmonious balance between the needs of businesses, residents, property owners, and individuals experiencing homelessness. Her work was instrumental in the County of Los Angeles dedicating millions of dollars to initiatives that continue to benefit the community today. Going beyond traditional management roles, Kerry has challenged existing practices and inspired others to seek meaningful solutions to persistent issues. Her role as a subject matter expert and her ability to guide others through complex challenges have left an enduring legacy in the field.
