After our last trip to Pikey Peak, we hadn’t been to any place for over a couple of months. And this winter, it snowed a lot. We saw and we even shared a few places around Nepal covered in snow. It is astonishing how snowfall completely changes the feel of a landscape, it's beautiful in a different way. The desire to get out and be somewhere was getting stronger, and that’s when we found out about Khumai Dada, thanks to Basanta Karki. His message on instagram led us directly to Ghachok in the month of Magh (mistakenly said Falgun in video) where our trek began. Once there, we found that Khumai is a section of the longer Great Machhapuchre Trail initiated by the locals there. As we learned more about GMT, we were excited but due to our time constraints, doing the whole trail wasn’t possible this time.

Nonetheless, trekking upto Khumai Dada and enjoying the pristine snow along with the magnificent view of the Himalayas, being up so close to Mt. Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna Massif was truly an amazing experience. The dip at the hot springs, the local delicacies and the involvement of the youths who are working hard to promote and develop this trail is even more fascinating. We are thankful to all the Ghachokis, the Great Machhapuchhre Trail Committee and everyone involved for the wonderful experience.
