On April 22, 2022 in a traditional Rent Ceremony, the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) gifted their downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba (Treaty No. 1 Territory) heritage building to the Southern Chiefs' Organization (SCO) in an act of social and economic reconciliation. This bold and collaborative vision will turn the space in to a multi-use facility for First Nations in southern Manitoba.

Leaders of federal, provincial and municipal governments gathered with SCO Grand Chief Jerry Daniels, SCO leadership and HBC Governor Richard Baker to put the vision of collaborative reconciliation, and words to action.
