This video shows how my friend & lab mate Rhyn uses a drone to survey the ocean coast in Hong Kong for part of his PhD as a marine biologist.
Rhyn is doing his PhD in the Marine Future's lab (same lab as me!) He is mapping the algae along the coast & the drone is a really good tool to take aerial pictures, which are then input into software which can identify where the algae is, and essentially count it :)
Part 1 shows how we manually collect & count the algae by snorkelling in the seaweed forests, if you're interested!
