most of the information is based on biography of Vijay Anand written by Anita Padhye.
lyrics writer for guide was hasrat jaipuri in the beginning but he made some mistake and dev anand got angry .
finally songs were written by Shailendra.
vijay anand used many sets to shoot piya tose naina lage re.
tere mere sapne ab ek rang hain ..the whole song is shot in only 3 shots .
waheeda rehman used to start her dance practice in the morning at 3 am before one month of the shooting for the film .
kishore kumar was not in india when songs for guide were recorded.but after his return one special song was recorded and added in the film ,that was gata rahe mera dil .
