Jean-Pierre Goux is a former researcher in mathematics at the Northwestern University and Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago. The 1992 Rio summit raised awareness and made him commit to the environmental movement.
In 2002, he won the SIAM Optimization price for his work on mathematics. In 2010, he published "Blue century" which offers an alternative story of the 21st century. He is inspired by sciences but also Navajos' spirituality. In 2012, he published "Shadows and Lights".
