Hi friends,
In my today’s video I am sharing a simple and my go to recipe of ridgegourd, which we mangaloreans refer as peere. This recipe is quick to prepare and awesome to taste, but one word of caution, do taste the ridgegourd while cutting, because it can be bitter sometimes. This recipe is dry and a best option for side dish, so it goes well with rice, rasam or dal or just as it is with ganji (i.e rice porridge)
Ingredients:
Ridge Gourd - 1 kg
Onion - 2
green chillis- 3
Garlic- 8
Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
coconut oil- 2 tsp
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
Urad dal- 1 tsp
Asafoetida- a pinch
Tomato- 2
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
2 tsp shreded coconut
Salt to taste
