Hike to the highest peak on a volcano. Yet, Mount Konocti does not seem typically volcanic. Brush & forests cover it’s slopes. There’s a dense grove of Canyon Live Oaks, some over 500 years old. Visit the cabin of independent-minded Mary Downen who moved to the mountain in 1903. A towering lookout structure dominates the highest peak but the spectacular views will overwhelm you.
