The urban-type settlement of Novaya (New) Chara in the Transbaikal Territory (formerly Chita Region). The center of copper mining on the BAM in general and the Transbaikal Territory in particular. This urban settlement appeared thanks to BAM, but next to it there is its “elder brother” - the village of Chara. Although now it is small and remote, but Chara is the first settlement of Russian explorers in the north of the Transbaikal Territory.
The management team is from the Kazakh SSR. Novaya Chara station is 1719 km of the BAM.
