Swiss Highways Become Runways for Air Force Jets / Kampfjets auf den Schweizer Autobahnen. Eight F/A-18 jets took part in the event.
The exercise took place on the A1 motorway between Avenches and Payerne, south of Lake Neuchâtal.
The A1 is the longest motorway in Switzerland (383 km)
The last time Swiss Air Force Fighter Jets landed on a motorway was in Ticino in 1991.
