Partially encircled by the Mariana Trench otherwise known as the deepest waters on the planet, Guam is home to many certified divers of every skill level.

It is the stopping in between Micronesian Islands, Marshall Islands heading to Hawaii, Japan, the Philippines and other parts Asia. The island is just over 900 miles north of the equator.

The Island is beautiful and rich in history. In between the military bases and around the island you will see some of the most picturesque waters found anywhere in the world.
I suggest renting an automobile to drive around the island. Speaking of rental cars, the airport (GUM) is less than 5 minutes drive to the hotel. If you plan to just stay at the hotel, a short taxi/uber would be best. Driving along around the island is about 72 miles and can easily be done in a day - you'll want to pack a towel, snacks, sunscreen and your camera.

On the grounds of the hotel is Roy's Restaurant founded by Roy Yamaguchi. Roy's is an upscale eatery featuring steaks & seafood. Having been to Roy's in Hawaii on O'ahu & Maui, I have never been disappointed. I found the hotel overall a bit tired, however, my room was freshly renovated. A friend said his room was extremely dated with carpet flooring among other things. The hotel and rooms are undergoing a renovation. It will be nice once all is complete.
