A couple years ago I learned how to feed my dogs naturally following NRC (national research council) guidelines, and today I wanted to take you guys along and show you how I batch prep a cooked meal for my dogs. My rabbits play a huge role in my dogs' diets, and we are so grateful for them as they are a huge part of this endeavor!

Just to be clear, I am NOT a canine nutritionist, I am just a self-taught dog owner that has been under the wing of several nutritionists in the past. I feel comfortable feeding my own dogs like this when I can, but caution should always be used for individual cases because you don't want to throw off a balanced diet. Also, full disclosure, my dogs DO eat kibble as well. Cooking for them is just something I do when I have time to prepare it :)

My 20 day bin batch prep recipe, formulated for a 55lb. healthy & active dog:
9lbs cooked rabbit
9lbs cooked pork shoulder
10oz cooked beef liver
20 eggs mixed in (or an egg given daily)
11lbs cooked brown rice

Supplement Mix (bulk prep - mix in with pumpkin purée for even distribution):
5 zinc picolinate cap powder
1/2 cup calcium carbonate powder
3/4 tsp. kelp powder
5tbs fish oil

Veggie Mix
One large can pumpkin purée (29oz)
2lbs zucchini
2lbs carrots
*Veggies can be replaced with healthy alternatives (I used kale and blueberries in my recipe). Veggies/fruits can be steamed/cooked and pureed for best bioavailability.

Additional:
*1 drop Vitamin D-3 liquid daily (use CAUTION - dogs can overdose from excessive Vitamin D intake - research how much to give your dog before adding)
*4 drops Vitamin E liquid daily

Batch in freezer bags and freeze until ready to use! Enjoy :)
