This heartwarming holiday story revolves around a Christmas party for the elderly.

Marcella Dawson (played by Loretta Young) risks her job as superintendent of the County Home and Hospital when she takes a $1,800 donation intended for a children's party and uses it instead to pay for a holiday party for the elderly, who have been totally forgotten by everybody.

This episode features an early appearance by Cliff Arquette, the actor and comedian famous for his role as Charley Weaver played on numerous television shows of the era, especially the original version of the classic game show The Hollywood Squares. Arquette died in Burbank, California following a stroke on September 23, 1974. He was 68 years old.

The part of Joe Wilson is played by Don Haggerty, a prolific film and television actor who appeared in a number of memorable films including Sands of Iwo Jima (1949), The Asphalt Jungle (1951), Angels in the Outfield (1951) and The Narrow Margin. The B-movie actor continued to appear in films until the early 1980s.

Of particular interest, he also co-starred with Miss Young in her 1951 film Cause For Alarm... which was a theatrical feature made by Miss Young and her executive producer husband, Tom Lewis, on a television budget to test the financial viability of the Loretta Young Show.

Haggerty died on August 19, 1988 (aged 74) in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
