Earlier this spring, I finally planted the row of hydrangeas I've been wanting for so long. I dreamed of making a hedge of large Limelight hydrangeas. Limelight are a paniculata hydrangea. They're the most sun tolerant of hydrangeas and are profuse bloomers!

Limelight grow large, about 8-10 feet tall, with large white blooms that open green at first, then turn white and age to a light blush color. Their blooms are one of the largest and the stems holding them are upright and sturdy. They can also be controlled with intense pruning.

I planted 18 and spaced them approximately 6 feet apart so someday they'll slightly overlap to create a hedge.

Start with a well-watered plant.
Dig a hole roughly two times the size of the container. - Do not over-amend the native soil. The roots need to become used to the soil in which they will grow.
Break up the roots of the plant and place it in the hole so the crown is slightly above the ground.
Replace the soil and pack lightly
Water deeply, two to three times per week if raining less than one inch per week.
