Greek producer Detlef steps up to Moon Harbour for the first time with a new EP that proves once again why he is one of the hottest new producers to emerge in the last couple of years. The three originals he provides here also come with an essential edit from VIVa boss Steve Lawler.

Detlef has made a great name for himself with killer EPs on labels like Material Series, Trapez and VIVa, ducking and diving in the infectious nether regions between house and techno with a unique charm.

The first of his efforts here is "Daxx", a chunky groove fleshed out with squelchy percussion and plenty of forward-looking pads. Diving bass notes help add depth and scale to the track that locks you in and never lets up until the end. "Wat Id Duz" is next up (it's an original by Detlef but edited here by Steve Lawler) and is a cool, deep tech house affair with subtle vocals off in the distance that grow ever closer and more excited. Nicely wiggling percussive lines and plenty of dynamic funk can be found in the beats and the result is a track that will be impossible not to dance floor come the weekend.

"Cold Romance" a much more ebullient and joyous track with layer upon layer of organic sounding percussion all jumbled into one shimmying rhythm. Big string sweeps bring a sense of melancholia to the otherwise sunny sounds, making this exactly the sort of track to switch up the mood of any discerning DJ's set.

Closing out the tidy EP is "Symphony", which is just that -- a perfect orchestration of dusty, shuffling drums, delicate melodic daubs, bubbling basslines and various other curious sounds which all work together in unison with a carefully treated female vocal. The result is a classy tech house anthem in the making and one that, like this EP overall, showcase Detlef's very real talents in style.
