This video features the life style of Kani tribes living in Thirunelveli district of TamilNadu. Kani tribe live in the Western Ghats of TamilNadu and Kerala. Until today some of them particularly the old generation still speak their mother tongue, which is also called 'Kani'. They live in small villages in the forest area. Colonial Indias well known museologist Edgar Thurston in his seven volume encyclopedia 'Castes and Tribes of Southern India' recorded in full details the anthropological and social system of Kani tribes.
