In this video, I'm going to explain why you should wait before you plan your dream vacation to Thailand. As of the publishing of this video, Thailand plans to reopen to foreign and international tourism through the Phuket, "Sandbox model" on July 1, 2021. However, we do not know if this timeline will be accurate. They also plan to reopen Pattaya, Thailand to foreign tourism in October, 2021. Again, there are many doubts this timeline will actually happen. As of now, if you come to Phuket in July, you will be required to stay on the island for 14 days. We do not know if Phuket's nightlife or entertainment venues will be open to foreign tourists at that time. Furthermore, there is currently an alcohol ban that has not been lifted. We do not know if that will stay in place when the island of Phuket reopens. Some foreign tourists may only have a 14-day vacation. If the vast majority of fun activities are not available for tourists, that may lead to negative reaction across social media platforms, which will ultimately hurt Thailand's already damaged tourism sector. With so many unknown variables, I recommend that foreign and international tourists wait to plan their vacation closer to the end of 2021. This will allow more time for businesses and tourists hot spots to fully reopen, giving tourists a higher quality vacation.
