SWMLC volunteer Talus Rutgers created this awesome video that explains how to identify - and eliminate - that wretched invasive plant, garlic mustard!

Garlic mustard can so thoroughly engulf a woodland that it's the only green plant to be found on the forest floor. Eliminating it allows a wider diversity of spring plants to prosper, providing the food and nutrients that pollinating insects, songbirds, and other creatures need and are adapted to use. Pulling garlic mustard is an easy and effective way to improve habitat – as Talus demonstrates.

Are you looking for ways to give back to nature after all the ways it’s been there for us this past year? Pulling garlic mustard is easy to do and can truly make a difference, while also giving families the perfect excuse to spend time together in nature.

If you would like to help out, you can find a printable how-to poster and list of SWMLC preserves that could really use some help this spring on our website: https://swmlc.org/diy-garlic-mustard-...
