We recently purchased the Ryobi 18 volt (+1) cordless heat gun to use for some of our electrical projects that we have been getting into. We purchased our Ryobi heat gun through Direct Tools at a discounted price, but they are also available at Home Depot. Ours came as a tool only (no battery & charger) and came with 2 slip on nozzles for use on certain jobs. In this video we try it out quick on 2 different wires with shrink tubing connectors.
This heat gun gets up to working temperature very quickly! You need to be very careful when using this heat gun to not burn yourself and to make sure it is completely cooled down before touching it or putting it back in storage. So far the heat gun has worked great for what we have needed to use it for, which is mostly shrink tubing on electrical connections.
