April is the month where the garden really starts to spring into life. It's another busy month in the allotment garden with the weather warming up, things to plant, and lots of jobs to do. Pests are coming out of hiding and the weeds are making an appearance again.
But what seeds can you sow in April, I hear you ask?
Let me show you some of the things you should be sowing in April to ensure you don't miss out on a great growing season! now is the optimal time to sow A LOT of crops!

Some of the tender crops still need to be sown at home or in a greenhouse or polytunnel as April can still be a very cold month at times, with frost and snow for some! we still need be cautious.
Whilst many other hardier crops can be sown outside direct just fine in the month of April.
For many, their average last frost date is sometime around May. For some, it can be as late as June! ours is around mid-late May. We are in zone 8b.

What are you sowing in April?
